Jesse & Laura are two of the most hospitable and loving people you’ll ever meet, and every moment of their wedding day showcased their generosity. From serving their guests the cake themselves to showering their wedding party with thoughtful gifts, it’s easy to tell why these two are so loved by their family and friends.  I felt lucky to be trusted with documenting their beautiful love story.

The morning started at Jesse’s sisters home, with of a fabulous dress and a strong cup of coffee. Her stunning gold dress was handmade just for her, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Laura and her bridesmaids made photographing prep a blast, and even trusted me enough to dress the bride in the pretty light of the back patio. As you can see, it paid off in spades…..

We headed to the historic Old Main building, part of the original campus of the University of Wisconsin on which the town is built. There Laura met her groom for a first look, complete with jaw dropping reactions and kisses!stevens_point_wi_wedding_22stevens_point_wi_wedding_05stevens_point_wi_wedding_06stevens_point_wi_wedding_03

Laura and Jesse scouted locations for wedding party portraits, and the fun locations were perfect for capturing the energetic spirit of this group!stevens_point_wi_wedding_10stevens_point_wi_wedding_08

Of course the guys needed to make sure their pocket watches were set to get the groom to the ceremony on time….

After formal photos were completed, we headed to Pfinner Park, complete with scenic views of the Wisconsin River to frame their ceremony.
We’re not sure who was more excited about the vows, the bride and groom, or Jesse’s handsome son Brandon!stevens_point_wi_wedding_23

It’s important to note that the couple’s recessional song was “Everything is Awesome” from the lego movie. It was so PERFECT, and you can’t help but melt to see Brandon peering over their shoulders as friends and family pelt them with rice & applause!

stevens_point_wi_wedding_14This might be a good time to mention that instead of traditional lawn games, these two had an axe throwing station set up. Yes, you read that right; don’t worry, it was monitored by a professional. Talk about a fun way to relieve some of that wedding planning stress!!
stevens_point_wi_wedding_18Jesse and Laura trusted me to steal away for a few moments during dinner and capture some of the golden light that falls over the river as the sun goes down…they needed no prompting to look great together; with these two is clearly comes naturally!  stevens_point_wi_wedding_16stevens_point_wi_wedding_15stevens_point_wi_wedding_17
The rest of the night was filled with delicious mexican food, house made margaritas,  and toasts to the happy couple.  Laura’s sisters flew all the way from their home in Iceland, and together they delivered a perfect speech to celebrate the bride.stevens_point_wi_wedding_24stevens_point_wi_wedding_27stevens_point_wi_wedding_28

We’ll leave you with this view of the sun setting over the Wisconsin River…a beautiful night for a beautiful couple.

I love her gold sequin wedding gown. Its so refreshing to see such a stylish and offbeat bride!

What fun Wisconsin wedding photography! I love the colors, the vibrancy. You did a fantastic job of capturing the joy of an intimate wedding while showcasing a really unique area. Just beautiful.

Jenny,
These photos are fantastic. You did such a great job capturing this couple’s big day and it’s hard for me to choose a favorite picture here.
I especially love the way you approached the color scheme and some of my favorite photos here are the ones that are slightly muted. So cool.
Great job!

An axe throwing setup, how awesome is that for creative games during a wedding?! This bride and groom seem like a lot of fun and you captured it well. Love that they did their wedding exit to Everything Is Awesome 🙂

OMG that wonderful, wonderful bride! I’m so obsessed with that beautiful gold sequin dress! The bridesmaid dresses are so stylish too! You did such a great job capturing the fun and joy of this couple’s big day. The details and behind the scenes moments were lovely to see <3

Thank you, Cassie. The dresses were all made by her Aunt.

Wow this was such a unique wedding and you captured it perfectly. I love the axe throw and the gold dress. so many great moments right here. The first location they picked for formals looks like something seen on Treehouse Masters and it is awesomely unique. very nice!
