2013-10-02_0001How do you make sure that you’re getting everything you desire out of your photographs? This is a topic we’ve blogged about before- it’s close to our hearts! Advice this valuable is worth repeating. In our perfect world, we would be able to personally ensure every bride and groom in the world would have incredible photographs to cherish forever. Since that’s a bit of a stretch, we would like to share what you can do to help your photographer accomplish this.

Here’s the thing:  your photographer is trained to look at things with a different eye than the rest of the world. This is why you chose him or her;  for their vision.  So how do you maximize on this?

One secret ingredient: Trust. When you let your photographers take the lead, you’re going to get amazing results.  If they haven’t already offered input, ask for it.  Your photographer is a huge resource for your wedding. How much time should we allow for portraits? Should we shoot inside, or outside? What time of day is going to yield the prettiest light? The difference of 60 minutes can take your images from good to breathtaking. Lean on her experience- it’s a major part of what you’re paying for.

Your photographer might suggest things that don’t make sense, but if you trust him or her, you will be rewarded tenfold.  Go ahead,  walk extra slow for your sparkler exit, hold your first kiss kiss for a few seconds, get dressed in the window light, leave your reception for ten minutes when it looks too dark to photograph outside….Whatever the crazy request, you’ll feel like a rockstar when you get your pictures back.

The trust you give your photographer is a solid investment: the more you give, the more you’ll get. And that’s something you can bank on.
