It was the type of DC morning every bride hopes for; warm, but not hot, with plenty sunshine to go around. Sara planned a generous amount of time for hair and makeup, making the morning feel down right luxurious. As she prepared to meet her husband, she glowed with anticipation. Because Sara and Ahmed were married in a private ceremony just a day earlier, this day was set aside to be a celebration of their love and commitment. It was beginning with a first look, followed by a photographers dream come true: two full hours for formal photos, including a limo trip to the DC monuments!
Lucky for Sara & Ahmed, the Anderson House is directly next to the hotel, so after their first look, we were able to use their garden and patio area for more photos of the lovely couple! With plenty of open shade, it was the perfect setting for a few more photos!
Sara booked a limo to take the wedding party on a quick tour of DC, including a stop for photos at the Lincoln Monument!
After our epic photo session, it was time for the wedding celebration to officially being, complete with the traditional Zaffa. If you’ve never attended an Egyptian or Muslim wedding, then you’ve missed out: a Zaffa is a musical processional, complete with sword fighting, musical performances, and of course dancing. Imagine the best parade ever, culminating in a wedding dinner!
The Fairfax at Embassy Row ballrooms provided the perfect scene for an evening filled with loving toasts, first dances, and caking cutting.
Warmest wishes to Sara & Ahmed as you begin your beautiful life together!
*special thanks to the Fairfax Hotel DC for impeccable catering, coordination & a beautiful venue!*
