The sunny June afternoon began in Neillee’s childhood home, surrounded by love from everyone, including the family dog. We’ve seen a lot of wedding days, but this one was different; it brimmed with history & meaning. It was clear from the moment Neillee put on her beautifully redesigned mother’s wedding dress, that this family has a beautiful legacy.
When we heard there was a framed bridal portrait from Neillee’s mother’s own wedding day, we had to incorporate it!
Meanwhile, at the family church just a stone throw away, a very dapper looking Dustin waited for the ceremony to begin!
We don’t normally have the luxury of a balcony on the side of the church aisles, so we were thrilled to have this angle; Dustin was clearly excited to see his bride for the first time!
The natural light in this church is breathtaking; a photographers dream come true!
Brand new husband and wife!
The church was so bright & pretty, we had to take advantage for a fun portrait of the wedding party, and they were happy to oblige!
This wedding party was a total blast to work with!
On the ride from the church to the reception (on Neillee’s grandparents property), we noticed a gorgeous grove of tree, beautifully back lit by the late afternoon sun. Neillee & Dustin are a dream couple, because it took no convincing for them to hop back on the bus to head here for portraits!!
Neillee, you are positively radiant.
Because the setting was so fantastic, we were able to finish bride & groom photos a little early and have a moment to capture the reception details. The backdrop of family property provided a unique space for their guests to enjoy cocktails and dance the evening away.
The view of the Rappahannock river was stunning, but Neillee & Dustin only had eyes for each other…
As the sun set, we stole a moment for Dustin 7 Neillee to walk on the shores of the Rappahannock River, and enjoy a moment in the view.
As the sun went down, the party was just getting started! Delicious wedding cake, meaningful toasts, and plenty of dance moves filled the tent and spilled out into the evening sky.
We love this moment between Neillee and her mom, Beth. Beth put in so much work to make this dream wedding happen, and watching them enjoy it all coming together warms our hearts!
Neillee and Dustin chose to exit their reception by boat, sealing their title as coolest couple ever!
Spellbound is the word! I am totally in awe of this wedding. Everything about the wedding from the theme to the couple is spectacular. The pictures have come to be amazing. Great post!
